Research

Within the Department of Hematology both fundamental as well as clinical translational research is conducted with the aim to understand cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive normal hematopoiesis, to understand how deviations therein can lead to hematological malignancies, and to develop novel therapies.

Research within the Department of Hematology is organized along two focus areas, Experimental Hematology headed by prof.dr. Jan Jacob Schuringa, and Immuno-Hematology, headed by prof.dr. Edwin Bremer.
